With over 100 million street lamps currently in operation across China, converting just 60 million of them to solar-powered models could save more electricity annually than what a single Three Gorges Dam produces. If all 20 million newly installed streetlights were solar-powered, the cumulative energy savings over three years would equal the output of another Three Gorges Dam. This approach does not require nationwide coordination but can be achieved through localized efforts by various government bodies and private enterprises.
