Circuit Function
The role of the 8-bit DA converter is to transform the digital signal within the digital system into a format that can be recorded or displayed on an XY monitor. This circuit is composed of relatively inexpensive components.
Since a C-MOS DA converter is utilized, it allows for the input of both positive and negative reference voltages. If an AC signal is fed into the reference voltage input terminal, digital modulation can be achieved.
Circuit Working Principle
IC1 serves as a latch designed to lock digital data, holding the data on the rising edge of the clock signal. The AD7523 is an 8-bit DAC comprising a thin-film ladder resistor and a C-MOS switch, performing multiplication of the reference voltage VE and the digital data. Current-to-voltage conversion is carried out by the OP amplifier A1. The output voltage EO is calculated as (digital data / 256) * VE, where the digital data range spans from 0 to 255 in binary numbers.
