It is a core patented technology of PIC18 series architecture MCU. Since it involves hundreds of products in the mid-to-high-end series of Weixin, it will have a significant impact on Weixin's current market position and future direction.
Microchip Technology first filed an intellectual property lawsuit against Shanghai Haier in July 2007. The company accused the latter of infringing the copyright of its data manual and microprogram. Subsequently, the veteran supplier in the MCU market filed an invalidation complaint against 15 patents applied by Shanghai Haier at the State Intellectual Property Office of China. Industry insiders pointed out that as the only MCU supplier in China that directly competes with Weixin technology products, Shanghai Haier's prosecution is also reasonable.
