Automotive radar analog front-end IC realizes adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection

The speed of popularization will accelerate with the introduction of cheap radar, and the target classification of the radar will be more perfect, and the range resolution will be higher. Therefore, the design method of the analog front end (AFE) is crucial. ADI's integrated inertial MEMS inspection technology has made airbags a standard automotive safety feature 15 years ago, and recently introduced a low-cost, high-performance radar AFE IC-AD8283.

Li Fangzhen said that the highly integrated AD8283 automotive radar AFE IC includes receiving path signal conditioning and data acquisition circuits, enabling the terminal system to achieve adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection and other radar-based detection and prevention applications. The main characteristics of the AD8283 are also reflected in: First, high performance, maximum gain (34dB), the voltage noise equivalent to the input terminal is less than 3.5nV/rtHz; precision gain and phase matching between channels. Second, the reliability is strong, and the automotive application grade products are certified by AEC-Q100. Third, the power consumption is low, and the power consumption per channel is only 170mW. In the case of radar standby, the power saving mode is less than 1mW/ch. Fourth, it is highly flexible. The on-chip signal conditioning circuit includes a programmable gain amplifier, a low noise amplifier and a programmable third-order low-pass elliptical filter. The AD8283 can be used in the 6 dB step size from 16 dB to 34 via the SPI port. Gain programming is performed in the dB range. Fifth, the size is small and the cost is low. The original AFE system using discrete components requires nearly 60 components, which is not only poor in reliability, but also large in size.

The AD8283 integrates a baseband platform support circuit including adaptive cruise control (ACC), blind spot detection (BSD) and lane change assist (LCA) in a single 10mm × 10mm package with an integrated solution that reduces the mounting area by at least half. AD8283 It takes up 50% to 80% less space than comparable discrete devices, and Li Jianzhen says the device is one of the most cost-effective devices on the market, while providing the level of performance required by radar system designers.

Currently, the six-channel AD8283 is AEC-Q100 certified and can operate over the automotive temperature range of -40 ÌŠC to 105 ÌŠC. The AD8283 integrates a 12-bit, 80MSPS (million samples per second) ADC with a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 67 dB and a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of 68 dB. The new device allows the radar system to receive and decode a greater number of transmitted signals for target identification and classification.

3.It will have twice the capacity of a lithium-ion battery of the same size

4.Can be made into a single high voltage: liquid electrolyte battery only with the number of cells in series with high voltage, and the polymer batteries as there is no liquid itself, can be made within the single star into multilayer combination to achieve high voltage.
