According to the provincial party committee's unified arrangements, Governor Li Guoying visited Hefei and Wuhu from November 7 to 8 to promote the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and conduct research on industrial development. The focus of the study was on the implementation of an innovation-driven development strategy, with special attention given to the growth of the industrial robot industry. He emphasized that in line with the strategic goals set by the 19th National Congress for building a modern economic system, accelerating the development of industrial robots should be a key part of advancing advanced manufacturing in the province. He also called for better integration of the Internet, big data, artificial intelligence, and the real economy, aiming to turn the vision of a modernized economy into practical progress for Anhui’s development.
Deputy Governor Fang Chunming and Provincial Government Secretary-General Hou Yi accompanied the visit. During the field inspection, Governor Li visited several key institutions and companies, including the Institute of Intelligent Machines at Hefei University of Technology, Wuhu Xingjian Intelligent Robot Co., Ltd., Eft Heimmeyer Robotics Co., Ltd., and the Wuhu Saibao Robotics Industrial Technology Research Institute. He gained insights into robot technology R&D, application scenarios, market expansion, and technical support. He urged local governments, departments, universities, and enterprises to continue following the innovation-driven strategy, enhance collaboration between industry, academia, and research, accelerate the transformation of scientific achievements, and expand the space for robot industry development.
At a symposium held during the visit, Governor Li listened to reports from Wuhu, Maanshan, and Hefei on the development of the robotics industry and outlined future plans. He noted that in recent years, the province has made progress in establishing a regional cluster for the national robotics industry, gaining valuable experience and achieving initial success. With the 19th National Congress emphasizing innovation as a strategic pillar for a modern economic system, he urged all regions to seize the opportunity, place the robot industry in a more prominent position, refine strategies, and work quickly to build a leading robot R&D and manufacturing base in China, striving to create a world-class robotic industrial cluster.
Li Guoying highlighted the need to develop the full industrial chain of the robot industry, aligning it with the requirements of a solid economy, technological innovation, modern finance, and human resources. He stressed the importance of building a strong innovation system, focusing on core technologies, promoting deep integration of production, education, and research, and improving the ability to convert scientific achievements into products. He also emphasized the need to develop an advanced manufacturing system, strengthen market innovation, and build a comprehensive service platform for the robot industry. In addition, he called for a talent development system, increased investment in high-level personnel, and better alignment between talent supply and industry needs.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of financial support, using models such as "base + fund" and "industry + fund" to provide seamless funding for robot companies at different stages of development. To ensure sustainable growth, he urged the establishment of a coordinated leadership system, the creation of scientific development plans, the formulation of precise policies, and the setting up of industrial development funds. He also called for improved mechanisms for technology transfer and the creation of institutional frameworks that support the healthy and continuous development of the robot industry in the province.
