According to the provincial party committee's unified arrangements, Governor Li Guoying visited Hefei and Wuhu from November 7 to 8 to promote the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and conduct research on industrial development. The focus of the study was on the implementation of an innovation-driven development strategy, with a particular emphasis on the growth of the industrial robot sector. Li emphasized that, in line with the strategic goals outlined by the 19th Party Congress for building a modern economic system, accelerating the development of industrial robots should be a key component of advancing high-end manufacturing in the province. He called for stronger integration between the internet, big data, artificial intelligence, and the real economy, aiming to turn these strategic plans into tangible steps for Anhui's economic growth.
Deputy Governor Fang Chunming and Provincial Government Secretary-General Hou Yi accompanied the visit. During the trip, Li visited several key institutions and companies, including the Institute of Intelligent Machines at Hefei University of Technology, Wuhu Xingjian Intelligent Robot Co., Ltd., Eft Heimmeyer Robotics Co., Ltd., and the Wuhu Saibao Robotics Industrial Technology Research Institute. He gained insights into the research and development, industry applications, and market expansion of robotics technology, as well as technical services. He urged local governments, departments, universities, and enterprises to continue prioritizing innovation-driven strategies, strengthen collaboration between industry, academia, and research, accelerate the transformation of scientific achievements, and expand the scope and quality of the robot industry.
At a symposium held during the visit, Li listened to reports from Wuhu, Maanshan, and Hefei on the progress of the robotics industry and discussed future plans. He noted that in recent years, the province has made progress in establishing a national-level robotics industrial cluster, gaining valuable experience along the way. The 19th Party Congress highlighted the importance of innovation as a cornerstone for a modern economic system, offering new opportunities for the robotic industry. All regions must seize these opportunities, place the robot industry in a more prominent position, refine their strategies, and work toward building a leading robotics R&D and manufacturing base in China, ultimately aiming to create a world-class robotic industrial cluster.
Li also stressed the need to develop the entire industrial chain of the robotics sector, focusing on building a strong technological innovation system, fostering collaboration between enterprises and research institutions, and pushing breakthroughs in core technologies. He emphasized the importance of enhancing advanced manufacturing capabilities, improving the conversion of scientific research into practical products, and strengthening the industrial supply chain. Additionally, he called for innovation in business models, demonstration applications, and the establishment of industry standards, while promoting quality assurance and creating integrated service platforms for the sector.
