Intel plans to develop quantum computers with silicon materials

Intel is planning to use existing hardware materials to develop quantum computers. Through quantum mechanisms, quantum computers can bring more powerful computing performance. Competitors IBM, Microsoft, and Google are all developing quantum computers, but these quantum computers are very different from current computers. Intel plans to use the current silicon transistor materials to implement quantum computers.

Quantum computing equipment developed by Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands in cooperation with Intel

A team of Intel's quantum hardware engineers in Portland, Oregon, is working with researchers at the QuTech Quantum Institute at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. Last year, the two sides jointly established a project with a scale of 50 million US dollars. Earlier this month, Intel reported that it was now possible to grow an ultra-pure silicon film on top of standard silicon wafers used in chip factories for quantum computing.

The basic unit of a quantum computer is a qubit. Other companies use superconducting circuits to implement qubits, but such qubits are limited in number. Intel's new technology goes a step further in this regard.

A quantum computer requires thousands, or even millions, of qubits to perform useful functions. Jim Clarke, head of Intel's project and director of quantum hardware, believes that qubits based on silicon are more likely to achieve this goal (Intel is also studying qubits based on superconducting materials). He said that one of the great advantages of silicon materials is that the industry has accumulated a lot of professional experience in this area, and there are ready-made devices that can be used, which will help the qubits to develop faster.

Another reason for developing qubits using silicon transistors is that silicon qubits are more reliable than superconducting materials.

Capacitor for Electric Furnace

Capacitor for Electric Furnace, commonly referred to as capacitors, are capacitors, expressed in the letter C.Definition 1: a capacitor, as the name implies, is a "charging vessel", a device that holds charge.Capacitor.Capacitors are one of the most widely used electronic components in electronic equipment. They are widely used in the fields of interleaving, coupling, bypass, filtering, tuning circuit, energy conversion and control.Definition 2: a capacitor consisting of any two conductors (including wires) that are insulated from each other and are very close together.
