(NYSE: VSH) today announced the launch of a new line of surface mount transient voltage suppressor (TVS) protection diodes, the VTVSxxASMF. For the first time in the industry, a breakdown voltage tolerance of 2% is achieved. Available in ultra-thin SMF packages, Vishay Semiconductors' surge suppression capability of 400W at 10/1000μs is suitable for portable electronics.
Today's devices are 1mm high with low noise technology and very fast response time, making them ideal for line transient voltage protection in space-constrained electronics such as laptops, laptops, tablets, smartphones and external hard drives. .
The VTVSxxASMF series consists of 23 devices operating from 5V to 63V with a breakdown voltage tolerance of 2% or 5%. These TVS devices have peak pulse currents from 2.9A to 20.3A, clamp voltages from 14.8V to 103.5V, low incremental surge resistance, and operating temperatures from -55°C to +175°C.
The protection diode provides ESD protection of ±30kV (air and contact discharge) to IEC 61000-4-2, high temperature soldering at 260°C/10 seconds on the joint, and moisture sensitivity reaches per J-STD-020 Level 1 standard. These devices are AEC-Q101 certified, RoHS and Vishay automotive grade standards, halogen free.
