Photovoltaic added 13GW to the whole year

It seems that the PV industry has achieved a consistent annual road map in recent years. In July-August, policies were intensively introduced, companies adjusted their layout, and set off a climax in the second half of the year. The national photovoltaic bureau announced yesterday the first half of 2014 photovoltaic power generation again reflected this rule. In the first half of the year, the new photovoltaic grid was added to 3.3 million kilowatts. Although it increased about twice as much as the previous year, it still has a distance of about 10 GW from the annual target. Analysts pointed out that this means that the growth rate of installed capacity in the second half will reach new heights, and related listed companies are also stepping up their layout, especially in large scale into the distributed field.

In the first half of the new grid connection of 3.3 GW of PV, the new grid capacity of photovoltaic power stations was 2.3 million kilowatts, and the newly-added distributed photovoltaic grid-connected capacity was 1 million kilowatts. The accumulated on-grid electricity generated by photovoltaic power generation was approximately 11 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of over 200%. As early as the beginning of this year, the National Energy Administration set an annual limit of 14GW of installed capacity for “recording”, including 8GW for distributed installation and 6GW for ground power station. The latest target comes from the distributed photovoltaic power generation on-site meeting held in Jiaxing on August 4th. Wu Xinxiong, director of the National Energy Administration, pointed out that “we will strive to increase the annual grid-connected capacity of photovoltaic power generation by more than 13GW”.

According to a number of people in the industry interviewed by the reporter, the 13GW target for newly installed capacity this year is more optimistic. According to Ding Wenlei, executive director of the distributed pioneer HangZhou Solar, “The 13GW installation plan for the whole year was completed and there was almost no problem after completion of the demolition. That is, the original set of ground 6GW, legacy 2.5GW, plus distributed 4.5GW.” Han Guoming, a new energy analyst from Wanguo Guo, pointed out in his brief comment that there is a large probability of new installed capacity in the region of 13-15 GW. Under the optimistic assumption of policy increase in the second half of the year, it is a high probability event that more than 3 GW of new distributed installations will be added.

After Wu Xinxiong released a series of favorable comments at the Jiaxing meeting on August 4, including the “pricing power policy, the extension of financing terms, the determination of ground distribution, and the guidance of local governments”, listed companies frequently performed their actions. Yi Jing Optoelectronics announced on August 6 that it plans to invest 1.6 billion yuan to invest 200 million watts of modern agricultural photovoltaic power station projects in the million mu vegetable base in Jintan City, Jiangsu Province.

Industrial Solar, GCL-Poly and GCL New Energy also announced on the evening of August 4 that the three parties have signed a three-year strategic cooperation agreement, and will cooperate in the development of a solar power project of not less than 500MW in 2015, of which distributed as the main Cooperation direction. The industry analyst Xingye Solar Co., Ltd. as the EPC contractor most benefited from the cooperation. The former chairman of the board of directors of Industrial Solar Liu Hongwei had said in an interview with the Shanghai Daily that the future business and profitability of the company will be adjusted according to national policies. “Distributed power generation is exploring well.
