The MAX1102 / MAX1103 / MAX1104 codec also provides an 8-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and an 8-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and a 4-wire logic interface. The MAX1102 / MAX1103 include a built-in 2nd V / 4V reference, which provides a good supervision and low noise reference for both ADC and DAC. The MAX1104 provides proportional conversion and is internally connected to the VDD reference.
The MAX1102 / MAX1103 / MAX1104 are low-cost, low-power codecs used with microcontrollers (μCs). They allow greater flexibility in choosing a microcontroller. Without built-in converters, μCs can be cheaper, while maintaining overall system performance.
The MAX1102 operates from a single power supply +2.7 V to +3.6 V, the MAX1103 operates from +4.5 V to +5.5 V, and the MAX1104 operates from +2.7 V to +5.5 V. The MAX1102 / MAX1103 are included in the VDD monitor, in addition to the Ain power supply monitor. All devices have a low 18μA standby mode, the two data converters will be disabled
