A plug-in hybrid version, the 740Le, is available in several markets, combining a 2.0L engine with an electric motor for a total output of 326 horsepower. It can run up to 42 km on pure electric power, making it a practical option for eco-conscious buyers.

As the largest single market for luxury cars, China plays a significant role in shaping global trends. The 2018 BMW 7 Series reflects this, offering more personalized features and the M Sport package for the first time. With the average age of 7 Series customers in China being around 39, BMW is trying to appeal to younger buyers who are tech-savvy and open to new experiences. However, competition from brands like Tesla, Mercedes, and Audi remains strong.
