Application of AFRD100 Fire Door Monitoring System in Shanghai University Baoshan Campus Expansion Phase III Project

0. Preface The Baoshan Campus of Shanghai University is located at 380 Nanchen Road, Baoshan District. The total construction area of the project is 133,500 square meters, with 120,000 square meters above ground and 13,500 square meters underground. It includes newly built facilities such as mechanical automation, material science, and law colleges, general laboratories, libraries, administrative offices, logistics support rooms, underground civil defense projects, parking garages, and outdoor infrastructure. This system provides 24-hour real-time automatic inspection of fire door status, issuing alarms when doors are in abnormal conditions. In case of a fire, the system automatically closes normally open fire doors, providing critical time for rescue and evacuation. 1. System Requirements Analysis The system detects the status of fire doors and issues audible and visual alarms to accurately indicate the location of any malfunction. It stores various fault signals and displays the power status of the system. 2. Reference Standards GB29364-2012 Fire Door Monitor GB50116-2013 "Fire Automatic Alarm System Design Specification" GB50016-2014 "Building Fire Protection Code" GA93-2004 Fire Door Closer 3. System Structure The AFRD100 fire door monitoring system centrally controls terminal devices such as electric door closers and electromagnetic release units. It monitors the opening, closing, and fault status of fire exit doors in real time, displaying circuit and short-circuit faults of the connected equipment. The system uses a fire-fighting bus to connect monitoring modules with communication capabilities. When a terminal device experiences a short circuit or open circuit, the fire door monitor sends an alarm signal, indicating the location and storing the information. The three phases of the Baoshan Campus expansion include the School of Materials and Communications, the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, and the Library. The School of Materials and Communications includes three areas: the School of Materials, the School of Communications, and the General Laboratory. There is one fire door monitoring host and 31 dual-door normally closed fire door monitoring modules. The Institute of Mechanical Engineering includes three areas: East Building, South Building, and North Building. There is one fire door monitoring host, four double-leaf normally open fire door monitoring modules, and 67 double-fan normally closed fire door monitoring modules. The Library section consists of eight areas, including the library, foreign language college, China-Europe college, liberal arts college, law school, social college, social science college, and microstructure research center. There is one fire door monitoring host and four fire door extensions with 182 dual-door normally closed fire door monitoring modules. Site topology:

4. System Functions

System Operation Main Interface

Composed of four parts: “Login” button, “Interface Title”, “Feature List”, and “System Status Bar”, it allows quick query of the current monitoring status and supports staff login operations.

User Login Interface

After entering the correct username and password, the system jumps directly to the user’s operation interface, displaying the current login user and their available functions.

Rights Management Interface

This interface provides three levels of operation permission: “Super Administrator” → “Administrator” → “Operator”. Higher-level users can add lower-level users.

Condition Monitoring Interface

This interface visually displays the working status of monitored fire doors. Clicking on a fire door icon shows detailed information about that door.

Equipment Testing Interface

This interface allows viewing and setting system parameters and testing some functions of the monitor, but only “Administrators” and higher have access.

Event Record Interface

This interface displays stored alarm records, fault records, and event records. Users can choose to query today’s records or set custom date ranges.

5. Conclusion With the rapid development of economy and technology, urban populations are increasing. In case of a fire, quickly isolating the source and controlling the spread is crucial for firefighting and evacuation. Therefore, fireproof doors and other fire partitions are widely used in building designs. However, due to poor design, incorrect selection, or inadequate monitoring, fire doors may not function properly. Real-time monitoring and control of fire door status is essential to prevent fire spread and smoke propagation. Thus, the fire door monitoring system was developed. The fire door monitoring system is a new product in fire safety. It integrates industrial computer technology, communication systems, anti-electromagnetic interference, digital sensors, and fieldbus control into an intelligent system. It performs 24-hour real-time patrols of fire door status, issuing warnings for abnormal conditions. In case of a fire, the system automatically closes normally open fire doors, providing valuable time for rescue and evacuation. References [1]. Ren Cheng, Zhou Zhongzhong.
