Synopsys Announces DesignWare Bluetooth Complete Low-Power IP Solution for IoT SOC Applications (Includes TSMC 40

Synopsys, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNPS) today announced the availability of a complete DesignWare® Bluetooth® Low Energy IP solution, including a Link Layer and a PHY using TSMC's 40nm Ultra Low Power (ULP) process. DesignWare Bluetooth Link Layer IP is compatible with the latest Bluetooth specification (v4.2) featuring low-power technology, including advanced data encryption and random number generators for authenticated secure wireless connections. The Bluetooth PHY supports Bluetooth 5, delivering up to 5dBm of transmit power for a wider coverage area. The PHY also supports IEEE 802.15.4 wireless network connection standards such as Zigbee or Thread. The complete Bluetooth Low Energy IP solution is part of the rich DesignWare IP family of Synopsys IoT System-on-Chip (SoC) applications, enabling designers to quickly integrate wireless connectivity systems for applications such as wearables and smart homes.
