Mainstream DDR3 chip spot prices rise

According to the DRAM memory market statistics report released this week by memory chip research company inSpectrum, the spot prices of all mainstream DDR3 chips have risen by an overall increase of 10%, which makes the price of 2Gb DDR3 chips back more than 2 US dollars.

At present, the industry's more unified judgment is that the price of DRAM chips has fallen to the bottom, and more optimistic people believe that manufacturers will start to slightly increase the price of memory chips in February.

This week 2Gb DDR3 spot price rose 13% to 2.03 US dollars, the same capacity of non-brand DDR3 chip prices rose 10% to 1.42 US dollars, 1Gb chip gains also exceeded 10% again.

Taking into account the possible rise in memory prices and the current low stock levels after the Chinese Lunar New Year, inSpectrum stated that some memory manufacturers and market traders have started to purchase DDR3 chips in small quantities this week, as more buyers follow suit. The transaction volume will also increase and Kingston will also increase its memory prices.

InSpectrum believes that the dramatic increase in the spot price of memory chips is caused by the dual factors of low inventory of channels and the market demand for manufacturers to raise prices. The price of chips is expected to remain strong after the holiday, but the daily price will not change much.

The price of the futures market does not have much volatility, but the industry believes that the space for the decline in the price of the memory futures is not much. Some manufacturers may start to raise prices in February.

The price of 2GB DDR3 memory in January has dropped from $18.90 in December last year to $17, and futures prices have changed little.
